Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Peekskill were stationed at Wal-Mart in the Cortlandt Town Center, located on Route 6 in the Town of Cortlandt this past Friday and Saturday, December 8 and 9, all day and evening long, ringing bells to collect monies from shoppers for the Salvation Army’s red donation kettle.
Club President Chappy Manzer said, "It is an honor to be able to have our members serve our local community through the local Salvation Army."

Carole Voisey, Pastor and Lieutenant Colonel, Salvation Army was the organizer of this weekend’s volunteer effort with Peekskill Rotary members. Lt. Col. Voisey is a member of Peekskill Rotary Club herself, and said, “I am grateful for the Peekskill Rotary, they have the same spirit as The Salvation Army. Helping others and giving back to their community is our common ground. We had a great turn out of Rotarians ringing the bells for us at Walmart. They have faithfully donated their time and contributions through the years which has gone a long way in helping us to serve those in need locally.”
