On April 1, 2005 Don Bereceived the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Support Connection, an organization that provides free and confidential support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. He was honored for his support of the organization, particularly his participation in the Support-A-Walk fundraising project that has been occurring since 1996.
