District 7230 and the United Nations Mark Rotary Centennial

Peekskill Rotarians bumped into familiar faces at the Millenium Hotel. L-R: Howard Copeland, Lynne Nayman, Myriam Ramos-Yorktown, Geri Schwalb-Yorktown, Tommy Smith, Sybil Canaan, Helen Lynch-Yorktown, Paula Greenberg-Croton.

Six Peekskill Rotarians celebrated Rotary’s Centennial by attending a reception held jointly by District 7230 and the United Nations. They mingled with Rotarians from throughout the District and with representatives of the U.N., who were present to honor the contributions of Rotary throughout the world. A few Rotarians from neighboring districts attended, as well.

The event took place at the Millenium Hotel in U.N. Plaza on February 23rd, Rotary International’s actual birth date. The crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to Rotary, mingled, and enjoyed each other’s company. It was especially rewarding to meet Rotarians from throughout the District, including a sizeable number from Staten Island who extended their invitations for make-ups.
