The Paramount Center for the Arts Keon Center

On March 4, 2005 the Peekskill Paramount Theatre hosted the weekly Peekskill Rotary meeting.  At this time, Rotary president , Keith  Bobolia, presented a check to Jon Yanofsky, Director of the Paramount, in the amount of $2,000.  This contribution from Rotary Foundation Funds was given to assist the Paramount in their renovation  plans, including the building of a loading dock for the facility.  This gift is one example of how Rotary Foundation Funds are used to assist local projects and organizations.

Peekskill Rotary President Keith Bobolia presents a check for $500 to William Melville, executive director of the Keon Center. The Center celebrated its 50th year of service providing the most comprehensive, vocational life skill training center in Westchester County.
Helen Kaushik Women’s College

Peekskill Rotarian Dr. Donald Plunkett traveled to Rajasthan, India in November to deliver a management lecture to students at the Helen Kaushik Women’s College. The school, on the edge of the Great India Desert and close to the Pakistani border, offers to women an extraordinary growth opportunity in a part to the country where their futures are typically bleak.  While there, Dr. Plunkett presented a check for $1,200 from the Peekskill Rotary Club to fund a one-year scholarship that will include room and board.  As a result, a young woman from the area will likely have a future unimaginable to many there.

Hendrick Hudson Free Library

Peekskill Rotary President Keith Bobolia presents a check for $1,000 to Conny Dyckman, director of the Hendrick Hudson Free Library to help support the library’s Summer Reading Program.
