Rotary Interact

Hendrick Hudson High School

The Interact Club at Hendrick Hudson High School has once again had a great year.  We began the year by sending off the last of the $1,000 we collected for Tsunami relief to Rotary clubs in the effected areas.  Then, we once again were involved in manning the Tree of Life table at the JV Mall in order to raise money for Hospice.  We took shifts in groups of two or three for two hours at a time, and we helped collect an amazing amount of money.

Of course, also in the holiday season, we collected and bought toys for the Marine’s Toys for Tots program.  We also donated money from past fundraisers to help fund research to fight breast and ovarian cancer.

As Spring began, Interact remained busy.  We collected helped record books on tape in both English and Spanish for a library of books on tape for the pediatrics ward at the Northern Westchester Hospital.  Now, we are full swing preparing for our annual Midnight Run, which will take place on May 6.

On Saturday, April 29 we held our final fundraiser, the always popular Battle of Bands, so that we will be able to purchase the last minute necessities for our Midnight Run.  Organizing a Midnight Run requires collecting and buying clothes, food, and toiletries.  It is a lot of work, but it is always well worth when we return from New York City with nothing left.

HHHS Interact has had another great year, and we are looking forward to all the fun things we will be doing next year!
