We had a nice showing at the club meeting on November 3, 2016, as our new District Governor, Lora Hugelmeyer, from Rye, came to meet with us and discuss her thoughts on where this year will take us. She spoke about Rotary International President John Germ's message which basically asks - what can I, as a person, do to make my club better; make me better. Lora also touched on how Rotary acknowledges the changing work world and how its demands and challenging schedules contribute to the stagnant or declining memberships around the globe. The Council on Legislation loosened up somewhat and changed some of the by-laws to allow for more flexibility in clubs when attempting to hold meetings in order to make it more attractive and accessible to new members. It is up to the individual clubs to move forward with those changes.  Anyway, she had a great time and was truly appreciative that we are such an active group.
